Jeff has been awarded the American Astronautical Society’s 2011 Lloyd V. Berkner Award “for working tirelessly to advance the cause of commercial spaceflight ranging from early efforts for cooperative commercial space activities with Russia through current commercial science payloads flown on the ISS.”

The Honors and Awards Banquet is to be held the evening of November 16 at the Hilton Houston NASA Clear Lake. Check out the American Astronautical Society’s website.

Legendary science fiction writer Jerry Pournelle has awarded Selling Peace as his March Book of the Month, stating “This is a very interesting insider’s account of an important period in space commercial development”.

Also this month, noted space journalist Leonard David enjoyed reviewing the book for the Space Coalition, noting in particular how “I particularly enjoyed reading about the out-of-public stage show of getting Dennis Tito off the ground as the first space tourist to pay for his own ticket into Earth orbit.”
